Every year John Lockwood of Enfield Wine Co. makes a deeply hued rosé. He changes the vineyard site and variety each year, though, providing us with an always evolving take on pink wines of substance and power. In 2023 he used roughly equal parts Zinfandel and Mataro, tread both by foot, and let them macerate for a full day. The result is neon pink in the glass, hibiscus-scented, and seriously playful. Only 2,000 bottles produced.
