Beppe Quintarelli is the most resolutely traditional producer of Amarone in Valpolicella. His grandsons Francesco and Lorenzo run the estate these days and uphold their grandfather’s legacy and continue to make the most exquisitely nuanced renditions of this classic style. Still dried the old-fashioned way in wooden boxes or on rush mats, macerated for three weeks, and aged for seven years in large Slavonian botti. Big in stature, weight, and bottle size.
