Fred Prinz was a garagiste before that was a cool thing to be. Seriously. In 1991 he started his winery as a side project to working sales for another winery. Since then he’s become one of the Rheingau’s elite growers, making wines that almost could be mistaken for Mosel origins, due to the high elevation of the vineyards and their distance from the river in comparison to most vineyards in the area. Mineral-laden and steely with a tropical backbone.
