Arianna Occhipinti has become one of the starlets of natural wine in recent years. While we’re thrilled for her reputation, we’re saddened by the ever-diminishing volumes of wines we get from her. Even the base SP68 labels are tightly allocated. Nevertheless the wines remain brilliant and characterful. The SP68 Bianco is a blend of Moscato di Alessandria (aka Zibibbo, aka the most delicious table grape ever) and Albanello, fermented on skins for 15 days. In the glass it’s disparate features shine through- the aroma of Muscat, the texture of skin-contact winemaking, and the indomitable fortitude of Arianna.
