Scott Schultz moved to Napa to be the wine director at Thomas Keller’s Bouchon, but quickly caught the winemaking bug. Now he crafts the Jolie-Laide wines with his partner Jenny in Sonoma.
Their Melon is an interesting Pacific take on a traditionally Atlantic variety. Steely and lean, the 2023 is perfect for an oyster-shucking party in Bodega Bay or any occasion that calls for refreshment and low alcohol (11.8 percent, designed for day drinking).
