Nestled in the eastern foothills of Napa, White Rock is one of our favorite old-school producers in our home valley. The Vandendriessche family have been making wine here since 1977 after taking over a property with a rich history of winemaking dating back to the 1870s, when a winery was constructed out of the volcanic white rock of the hillside (hence the name). Today brothers Christopher and Michael run the winemaking and viticulture, respectively. While we loved the 2018 and included it in our opening day flight lineup, we’re even more impressed with the 2019. It’s Napa without any excess.
