Valle de Guadalupe Chenin Blanc, Sierra Vita 2021

The Valle de Guadalupe is the preeminent winegrowing region in all of México. With a Mediterranean climate due to being bordered by water on its lateral sides and high elevations, the wines are decidedly more fresh than most people would expect. Sierra Vita was a vineyard project long before it became a winery in 2015, and they rely on organic practices and horses in place of tractors to make a positive impact on their grapes and the earth. While most of the best wines from this part of the world are red, we were impressed by this Chenin. It’s phenolic and savory with a rose water and lime character.
