Terrasses du Larzac is one of the newest appellations in France (officially approved as of 2014). The region enjoys the ripeness of the sunny Languedoc, but its position at the base of the Massif Central mountain range creates wide diurnal swings, bringing a freshness and elegance to the wines.
Mas de Brousses is a project run by Xavier Peyraud (a familiar name to any fans of Domaine Tempier in Bandol- he is Lulu’s grandson). Like his cousins in Bandol, Xavier is enamored with Mourvèdre, which is the dominant variety in this bottling. Organically farmed, garrigue-scented, this is the rare chugging wine from the Languedoc, an area more famed for dark and burly reds.
