Javiar Arizcuren is an architect by day, and a winemaker by nights and weekends. With the help of just his father, he’s producing some of the most exciting wines from conservative, stodgy Rioja that we’ve tasted in a while. In an area often associated with use of oak, it’s refreshing to taste a wine that focuses more on purity of fruit, while still having a refreshing savory edge.
