Mâcon-Vinzelles, Fabrice Larochette 2020

Vinzelles is one of 27 villages in the Mâconnais permitted to append their name to the main village’s. Throughout most of this region in southern Burgundy a unique vine training system called taille en arcure is employed. It consists of a single cane in an arc shape with extra elevation from the ground to minimize frost damage, which can be a problem in the area. Fabrice Larochette is one of many growers who train their vineyards in this manner, and his 2020 is emblematic of the area- round, tropical, and hazelnutty with a steady line of acid underneath.
