The region of Szekszárd in southern Hungary has been producing wine since pre-Roman times. Both the area and Kadarka, the grape in this bottle, suffered under Communist rule. Happily, Zoltán Heimann, Jr. is at the forefront of bringing both back to prominence. His family is solely responsible for preserving certain clones of Kadarka. Using some whole-cluster fermentation, this single vineyard wine is like a light, floral cranberry juice.
