Mike Schieffer and Kara Maraden are a winemaking power couple. Mike is the assistant winemaker at Turley and Kara oversees viticulture for Foley. Their personal label shines a light on interesting vineyard sites across California. Haynes Vineyard is an iconic tract of land in Coombsville, farmed by Fernando Delgado and his family since 1971. Mike and Kara make a rugged, northern-Rhône-esque Syrah from here, with flavors of juniper, olive, and fennel taking the lead over classic Napa fruit. Sadly this will be the last vintage of this wine available from Fine Disregard following the purchase of Haynes Vineyard by the Lawrence family in 2019, so stock up while you can!
